Norway is the world’s second largest exporter of fish and seafood products. 

Norway exports seafood to about 130 countries all over the world. In 2016, the value of Norwegian seafood exports totalled NOK 91 billion. 67% of the export, measured in value, went to Europe. 


MANIFOLD OF SPECIES

With export value of salmon and trout reaching 65,3 billion NOK in 2016, an increase of 31%, this is yet again the most important export product. In addition to this there is a great diversity in the species exported. Last year, 66 types of seafood were exported from Norway.

White fish comes second on the list of the most important products with a total value of 13,8 billion NOK in 2016. This is an increase of 6 %.

In addition to salmon and white fish, also mackerel, herring and shellfish saw an increase in value of exported goods last year.
